For common applications in the liquid containment arena — ones that just need a dependable blue-collar material — PVC is the way to go. PVC is a good, economical alternative to higher priced materials. Its weldability and compatibility with Type I PVC pipe saves time and money since the PVC-formed container can be directly welded to the PVC pipe, eliminating flanges or other connectors.
PVC is resistant to corrosion, mild acids, alkalais, & solvents. It performs in applications to 140°F (60°C) and has UL94 V-O Flammability Rating. It is gluable with standard PVC cements and in addition can be thermoformed and heat-welded. Additionally its virtually zero moisture absorption makes it ideal for use as tanks, drip trays, secondary containment, hoods & ducting, and instrument housings. Dark grey in colour.
